Snow flasks & winter wonderland Events
Coming from a Caribbean background, you think that I hate winter right? But you wrong. Winter time is one of my favorite time to do events.
As most designers, we plan our events around a mood or a certain ambiance. Nothing pulls people a little closer than the beautiful white snow; and a smooth blast of the cold breeze.
Don’t shy away from the weather but embrace it. Planning a winter wonderland event is fun. Here are some great tips when planning a winter wonderland event.
Uses the weather and your environment as your event palette. White with accents of glitters are very famous for that period but please don’t limit yourself to just that.
Take a closer look outside and you will be amazed of all the accents you will find. Setting a tone for your event is super important. As a designer, my very first question I ask myself is “how do I want my client and guest feel when they walk into the room?”.
I encourage all my clients to decide on a tone for your next event, how do you want yourself and your guest to feel?. I believe I am one for the biggest candle lover in the world. Yes, I love Candles. Noting set a great tone than candles. The more the merrier. I believe that there’s nothing like too many candles, however, it is very important to practice safety when using them.
CANDLE SAFETY RULES
Always keep a burning candle within sight. Extinguish all candles when leaving a room or before going to sleep. Be sure the wick ember is no longer glowing.
Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire. Keep burning candles away from furniture, drapes, bedding, carpets, books, paper, flammable decorations, etc.
Keep burning candles out of the reach of children and pets.
Trim candlewicks to ¼ inch each time before burning. Long or crooked wicks can cause uneven burning and be dripping.
Be sure the candle holder is placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.
Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents, ceiling fans and air currents.
Always burn candles in a well-ventilated room. Don’t burn too many candles in a small room or in a “tight” home where air exchange is limited.
Don’t burn a candle all the way down. Extinguish the flame if it comes too close to the holder or container.
Never touch or move a burning candle or container candle when the wax is liquid.
Place burning candles at least three inches apart from one another.
Use a snuffer to extinguish a candle.
